McDonald’s Malaysia wins Gold

McDonalds LogoMcDonald’s, the world’s leading Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) chain, was recognized as the best in its industry when it won the GOLD award under the Retail – Fast Food category at the Putra Brand Awards 2013.

McDonald’s was also honoured as a Putra Hall of Fame brand, a recognition given to brands that are iconic and frontrunners in the industry and have won the Putra Gold awards for four years running.

Introduced in 2010 as an extension of the Malaysia’s Most Valuable Brands (MMVB) programme, this prestigious annual brand valuation and recognition exercise is organised by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (AAAA) which receives support from Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and other industry associations.

This award is recognition to companies and brands that are near and dear to the hearts of Malaysians.

While MMVB measures best brands by financial valuation, the Putra Brand Awards measures brands by consumer preference.

Sarah Casanova, Managing Director of McDonald’s Malaysia and Regional Manager of McDonald’s Malaysia & Singapore said, “McDonald’s aspires to be Malaysians’ favourite place and way to eat and drink.  We serve over 13 million customers a month and this number will continue to grow, hence, we recognize the need to evolve our products and services to serve the needs of all our customers. To this end, I would like to thank our people for everything they do every day in our restaurants as their hard work and passion for the brand is vital in providing better overall experiences to our customers.”

She adds, “We are honored to receive the Gold Putra Brand Award, as this signifies Malaysian consumers’ recognition of our efforts. On top of that, we are truly humbled to gain entry into the Putra Hall of Fame alongside 11 other leading brands from various industries.  This recognition from our customers is truly a testament to our People and their efforts day in and day out to put a smile on every customer’s face.”

A consumer research polling system involving 6,000 people helped select Malaysia’s most preferred brands across a spectrum of 21 categories with the top brands in each category being honoured with a gold, silver and bronze ranking.
