Month-on-month comparison revealed that majority of the product groups experienced a drop in sales in June compared to the previous month. One of the few exceptions was the Air Treatment segment, which spiked in sales by 57% in volume due to the hazy condition in Malaysia.

Sales of Digital Cameras reflected a downward trend in general. Both Compact Cameras and DSLR showed double-digit decline in terms of YTD performance when compared against YTD2012. On a brighter note, the Mirrorless segment continues to grow by 67% in units and 38% in value versus last year.

Consumer spending in the Telecommunications segment continues to expand, with its value contribution increasing from 44% to 48% in the total technical consumer goods market. To-date, Smartphones’ value growth for the first six months of the year over last year is at 30.8% and reflects almost 94% of total phones value sales.
